Romtelecom provides fixed telephony and Internet services toapproximately 130,000 out of the 400,000 small and medium-sizedcompanies that operate in Romania, a figure that last year rose by15% from 2009.
"Small and medium-sized enterprises make up 80% of the totalnumber of companies in the economy and bring around 35% inrevenues," says Corina Păun, the manager in charge with operationswith SMEs and microenterprises at Romtelecom.
Operations with such companies bring almost 10% of the telecomoperator's total revenues, namely around EUR70-72millionannually.
The biggest contracts signed so far in the SME field amount to avalue of EUR350,000 a year, a sum paid by just two companies forthe telecom services provided by Romtelecom, while another fivecompanies in the unit's client portfolio spend around 100,000 eurosa year to this end.
