Arabesque replaces former textile mill with shopping complex

19.05.2008, 19:32 6

Arabesque, the leading supplier of construction supplies and finishes, has started work on a new shopping centre in Suceava County on the site of the former textile factory of the Akrom Akal Textile Romania company, one of the top ten players in its respective industry until 2007. "The main factors that made us buy this land were the position and large surface area of the lot of the textile factory. The deal was finalised in the first quarter of last year and then we started to build an Arabesque branch that will open in 2010," Arabesque officials told ZF. Arabesque says the land and facilities the textile producer had were worth 5.4 million euros (18 million RON). The construction supplies manufacturer did not reveal the amount of investment allocated for the shopping centre, but previous allocations for such purposes stood at eight to ten million euros.
