Argos Cernavoda raises share capital

The Argos Cernavoda company in early August lifted its share capital by 2.3 million RON to 6.3 million RON, by raising the face value per share from 16.8 RON to 26.82 RON. The company's domain of activity includes industrial production, nuclear-electrical construction services, naval services and hydro-technical constructions. In 1994, Argos became the first fully Romanian-held private shipyard, in line with company data. The firm owns production and fitting halls and various workshops. The company was founded in 1948 and owns the majority stake in Dobroport, a firm operating the Cernavoda, Medgidia and Basarabi harbours. In 2005, Argos Cernavoda reported a drop in turnover from 56.7 million RON (14 million euros) to 48.77 million RON (13.4m euros). In the same period, the company's income grew almost four times, to 4.04 million RON (1.11 million euros).
