07.03.2007, 18:32 9

Car subassemblies importer and distributor Augsburg International estimates an approximately 25% turnover increase for this year, to 44 million euros, according to the company's general manager, Gina Iordache. Turnover exceeded the 35 million-euro level last year, an about 30% increase against the previous year. The company will separate its operations into two divisions in June 2007; the sale of spare parts will continue to be conducted through Augsburg International and service activity will be taken over by AT Augsburg. The company completed the construction of a local spare parts warehouse in Cluj-Napoca last year and will open a similar facility in Timisoara as of April 2. The investment in setting up such a centre, with a 1,400 square-metre built surface area, now reaches some 500,000 euros, not including the value of the land. AT Augsburg will open two new centres for the sale of spare parts and for service activities, either through a partnership with other companies, or by itself. The investment in such a plant will exceed one million euros, a sum that does not include the acquisition of the plot. Augsburg International controls a network of eight sales and service facilities, in Bucharest, Brasov, Iasi, Arad and Cluj-Napoca.
