Construction materials manufacturer Baumit Romania, a branch of the international group Baumit Wopfinger, generated a 30% turnover increase in the first half of this year against the same period last year. According to company representatives, the increase was not only aided by the market's upward trend, but also due to an expansion in the product range. For the entire year, Baumit Romania forecasts a 30-35% growth rate against 2006, to approximately 40m euros. The company last year saw its sales advance by around 30%, to approximately 30-32m euros, and expects to maintain the same growth rate this year. According to company representatives 15% of Baumit's production is now exported, but the percentage is expected to drop after the company opens plants in countries where Schmid Industries (the holding company that owns the Baumit brand) have offices present.
