Bucharest residents spent 80m euros in Cotroceni Park in H1

Sales of the over 200 stores present in Cotroceni Park mall ofBucharest, the most expensive shopping centre developed in Romania,revolved around 80m euros in the first half of this year, withvisitors' average consumption bill standing at some 8-9 euros, inline with ZF calculations. "Retailers' H1 sales came at around13-14m euros monthly for the entire mall. January was a good month,after which February and March were a disaster, with 11-12m-eurosales. Starting April, though, sales have begun to rise, and fromtalks with retailers, July was even better than June," IsraelVisel, Cotroceni Park manager, told ZF. He did not discloseinformation about revenues generated from mall space renting.Instead, the number of visitors stands at around 50,000-55,000people early in the week and goes up to 80,000-90,000 at weekends.The best sales month was December 2009, when visitors spent 19meuros in the mall that includes tenants such as Real, Inditex,C&A or Cinema City.
