Partners in the biggest law firms in Romania made an average net income of 500,000 euros last year, depending on the profit of the firm and the percentage held in it by each partner, while managing partners' incomes could have exceeded one million euros, reveals a ZF study based on the annual tax returns filed by companies, obtained with law firms' permission. The analysis includes profit data for six of the biggest firms on the market (NNDKP, Musat & Asociatii, Tuca, Zbarcea & Asociatii, Popovici, Nitu & Asociatii, Schoenherr si Asociatii and RTPR), which made such data public this year. ZF requested copies of the annual tax returns from Linklaters, CMS Cameron McKenna, Badea Clifford Chance, Salans, Voicu Filipescu, Vilau Mitel, Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu and Pachiu & Asociatii, but was unable to be provided with the necessary information for various reasons. Business law is one of the highest-paid trades, at least for partners of big law firms. Overall, the six firms analysed number 46 partners. There are about 100 partners in the top 10-15 companies who earn this amount of money, as well.
