Ambient Sibiu, one of the leading construction material distributors, posted sales worth some 63 million euros (220.3 million RON) in the first six months of this year, an 85% increase against the similar period of last year, according to company representatives. "This year, we will reach turnover worth 133.5 million euros, once the newly opened centres (in Alba, Cluj, and Tg. Mures) mature and consolidate their position on the market," Cristina Giurca, marketing manager of Ambient Sibiu, told ZF. Moreover, the increase in turnover is due to the growth of the construction market, and implicitly to the market of construction materials in the big cities, like Cluj, Targu-Mures, Sibiu, where the Ambient group operates, say company representatives. This year, the company opened a shopping centre in Targu-Mures, in the wake of investment worth 7 million euros, and a shopping centre in Deva in June, and this month, a construction materials (structures) warehouse was inaugurated in Lugoj. The next cities where Ambient stores will be opened this year are Baia Mare and Gheorgheni.
