Car part producers set up their new headquarters in Craiova area

The first three car part producers to become suppliers for Fordplant of Craiova have started construction works for the plantslocated close to Ford plant. Their announcement comes after the UScarmaker unveiled its new plans for the Romanian plant, which,starting next year will manufacture the B-Max model, one year laterthan initially planned.

In the same field, a fourth producer is interested in investingon the former industrial site of ARO, in Campulung Muscel.

Starting 2011, there are high chances that we will see newinvestments by car part producers in Romania, according toConstantin Stroe, chairman of the Association of AutomobileManufacturers in Romania (ACAROM).

Of the 10 car part producers to work in Craiova, JohnsonControls is the first company that has already started arecruitment programme. "(...) The value of investments in Romaniawill top 10m euros in the following years with a view to expandingproduction," say the company's representatives.

The second production unit belongs to Lear Corporation, a USfirm specialising in cable and electrical system production.

The third supplier will set up shop in Bals, Oltcounty.
