The Caruz group of companies, owned by Braila businessman Gheorghe Caruz, intends to expand its presence in the cash & carry networks, as well as in the hypermarkets and supermarkets in the country, after it has started producing meat products under the Galco brand this year. "Given our production potential, it would be a shame not to be present everywhere," said Caruz. The businessman estimates a net profit worth 10 million euros for his group this year. The turnover for this year is estimated at 100 million euros, and for 2007 it will stand at 200 million euros, as estimated by the group's president. The forecasts provided by Gheorghe Caruz come after the opening of a new meat products factory in Galati this year. Following the 8 million-euro investment conducted this spring by the Caruz group, it reached a 120 tonnes/day meat processing capacity.
