Elvila, a company controlled by businessman Viorel Catarama, sold a 22.5-hectare plot to real estate developer BelRom in Ramnicu Valcea in a transaction estimated at 23 million euros, according to market sources. One of the group's manufacturing facilities is located in Ramnicu Valcea, while the other three are in Beius, Mizil and Piatra Neamt. The plot in Ramnicu Valcea is positioned in the centre of the city, with production likely to be relocated, according to market information. Contacted by ZIARUL FINANCIAR, Catarama did not confirm the information, while BelRom representatives did not comment by the time this issue was ready for print. BelRom is one of the most active real estate developers on the market, which invested in, and then sold retail parks in Sibiu and Targu Mures in cumulated transactions worth 173 million euros, and in 2008 inaugurated three similar projects in Braila, Focsani and Bacau. The developer had been previously involved in a major deal in 2007, when it took over for 60 million euros the land of the Helitube plant (in Bucharest).
