Cersanit Romania, formerly Romceram, will buy from the Romanian subsidiary of Polish wooden flooring and parquetry company Barlinek two plots of land that cover 33.5 hectares, located in Margineni, Bacau County, for approximately 15 million euros. The first plot is 11.56 hectares and the second 23.74 hectares, according to a notice Cersanit Romania sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Cersanit Romania is 99.36% owned by Polish sanitary ware manufacturer Cersanit. At the end of August, Barlinek announced that it planned to sell its two plots for at least 22 million RON. Mariusz Gromek, chairman of the supervisory board of the Polish company said at the end of May that Barlinek intended to invest 100 million Polish zlotys (more than 100 million RON) in expanding production at Diana Forest Bacau, a company it took over early this year and part of the funds would be raised from selling some of its assets. The investment is intended to boost the parquetry production capacity of Diana Forest from 800,000 square metres to 2.8 million square metres.
