Passenger railway carrier CFR Calatori will organise an auction in July, with a view to repairing 50 Desiro Sageata Albastra self-propelled trains, with the value of the contract estimated at up to 7.24 million euros (VAT exclusive). "A basic agreement will be signed over a two-year period, with one single operator for a maximum of 50 units. This agreement includes several subsequent contracts, each with a duration of six months. The first contract has an estimated value of 1.4 million euros, and entails the repair of ten self-propelled trains," stated company sources. The auction, which will end when a basic agreement is met, will be organised on the Romanian Commodities Exchange, with the contracts to be financed from CFR Calatori's own funds. The companies interested can submit offers until June 23rd, the date when they will be unsealed. The contract will go to the lowest bidder.
