Concorde Courier, a local and domestic courier service, posted a 1.8 million-euro turnover last year, three times higher than 2005. "The rise in turnover was induced by the increase of our client base, as well as by the growth of the courier market," said George Negoescu, the company's executive manager. This year Concorde is estimating a 50% increase in turnover to 2.5 million euros. Currently Concorde derives 35% of its turnover from the local courier market. "We hope to tip the balance so that 20% of turnover is derived from Bucharest and 80% from the rest of the country," stated Negoescu. Concorde Courier's main competitors on the local market were up until recently Pegasus and Alo Curier, however, Curiero, another domestic courier service, also entered the market last year.
