Connex-Vodafone focuses on Transylvania and Banat

Mobile telephony operator Connex-Vodafone will concentrate its development strategy in the future by putting a greater emphasis on the Transylvania-Banat region, to tap into the significant growth resources in this region. "This region is very important to us, because it has a very high growth potential. We have focused on the southern part of the country until now, therefore many of our projects will be directed at Transylvania over the forthcoming period," Liliana Solomon, CEO Connex-Vodafone told ZIARUL FINANCIAR. The mobile telephony operator launched the 3G services in seven other cities in the country yesterday, five of which are located in Transylvania. On the other hand, Liliana Solomon, Connex-Vodafone CEO, announced that the rebranding process of Connex-Vodafone to Vodafone would be finalised over the next few weeks. As part of the development strategy, Liliana Solomon says the mobile telephony operator will have a 200 million dollar investment plan for this year, in order to expand its 3G network and open new stores across the country. The amount allocated for investments is the same as last year, and a large part of these investments will be directed to the development of the 3G network. Connex-Vodafone launched 3G services in seven other cities yesterday, with the new cities where these services are available being Baia Mare, Satu Mare, Alba Iulia, Bistrita, Turda, Buzau and Bacau. Out of the 22 cities where Connex-Vodafone''s 3G services are available at the moment, 12 are located in Transylvania. ZF
