Publishing group Corint, which includes Corint, Leda, Runa and Corint Junior publishing houses, forecasts a 6.5 million-euro turnover for this year, up 12% against last year, amid an increase in the number of new titles. Last year, the group reported gross profit worth 1.3 million euros, and a 5.4 million-euro turnover. The group derived around 3.3 million euros from the sale of textbooks and guides, while the sale of books for children and teenagers fetched Corint 1.4 million euros. Last year, the group published 541 titles, around 300 of which were new ones, with 2.8 million books being sold in all. "We estimate to sell around 500 titles this year, with new titles to account for a bigger share. We expect the number of books sold to reach around 2.5 million," said Daniel Penescu, manager of the group and one of its three shareholders alongside Luiza Penescu and Cristian Gresanu, who each hold an equal number of shares.
