Coty Cosmetics considers acquisition

16.05.2008, 21:00 8

When it comes to business development, Coty Cosmetics Romania, one of the main importers of decorative cosmetics and fragrances on the local market, follows the company's international strategy. Apart from a 2% sales growth rate per year, the company is also considering acquisitions on the local market. "Both internationally and in Romania, where our business has registered a significant increase, we have an aggressive acquisition policy, apart from developing our own brands," Viorel Ognean, general manager of Coty Cosmetics Romania, told ZF. Recently, the company has taken over American cosmetics manufacturer Del Labs internationally, thus consolidating its leading position on the colour cosmetics market. The acquisition took place two and a half years after Coty bought Unilever's cosmetics division. According to Ognean, there is no longer a sizeable cosmetics industry in Romania, which is why big players are showing less interest when it comes to local production.
