Culcescu taps into wine market, after greenhouses

Horia Culcescu, who had business George Becali as his wedding godfather and who owns Leader International, as well as of over 170 heated greenhouses, will also enter the wine market this autumn, via Ostrovit company, based in Constanta. 'We have invested five million euros' worth of Sapard funds in the construction of a wine cellar, which will become operational in the coming few months, while in autumn we will launch a new wine brand. We will produce several varieties of wine, including Feteasca, Riesling and Muscat Ottonel, which will have a Controlled Designation of Origin certification," Horia Culcescu said. Wine production will be conducted via Ostrovit, a company based in Constanta county, which manages over 1,500 hectares of land cultivated with new grapevine.
