Dacia changes logo in a bid to remain up-to-date

12.03.2008, 18:55 13

Rafael Treguer, marketing manager of Automobile Dacia, says the new logo for the Dacia models has been introduced in an attempt to bring its image up to date, given the positive reception of the Logan brand on the Western-European markets, which has brought the Mioveni-based plant into the spotlight. "We could not afford to be behind in terms of image, which is why we chose this time to introduce a new logo for the Dacia models," said Treguer, referring to one of the latest moves of the carmaker, in an attempt to reposition the brand. The reasons for the decision were, of course, commercial ones, as is the case for any change of this type. Since the company's exports are going up year-on-year (reaching over 55% of the 230,000 retailed units in 2007) it has become necessary to promote Dacia's models (which include the Logan model) as more than low cost cars.
