Dalkia sees losses but business goes up

Dalkia Romania, a company specialised in providing power services, posted a turnover worth 4.3 million euros at the end of last year, a 27% rise against the level seen in 2004. According to official data, the company ended last year with losses worth 0.4 million euros, after logging a profit worth 0.2 million euros in 2004. Company representatives had not made any comment by the time this issue was ready for print. Dalkia Romania entered the local market in 1992. The company manages heating networks in Tulcea, Ploiesti, Alba Iulia, supplying the necessary thermal and electrical power for over 70,000 dwellings and some 700 companies. The company has 125 employees. The French company Dalkia announced last year that, together with Electrocentrale Bucuresti (Elcen), it would create a new cogeneration group (a group which produces electrical and thermal power simultaneously) at the Grozavesti power station, through a joint venture. Electrocentrale Bucuresti holds 50% of the joint venture shares, while Dalkia International France has a 35% stake and Dalkia Romania, a 15% stake. ZF
