Euroholding, 100m-euro investments in constructions and textiles

18.04.2008, 20:32 12

Italy's Euroholding group, which carries out operations in constructions, textiles and real estate, will reach the 100m-euro mark in terms of investments since it first entered the market in 1994.
Euroholding, which mainly operates in Banat, last year entered the Bucharest market, where it has had a quite small presence until recently, after the group acquired Marcora Constructii, the domestic arm of Italy's Marcora group, reads the April 24 edition of Business Construct.
This year, the group will start a 20m-euro investment programme for the turnkey delivery of construction projects. "2008 will be the most important year for the group's companies because we'll start investments worth 20m euros, with the largest sums to be raised from construction firms Euroconstruct, Europrefabricate and Europroducts, and we'll also invest in a textile plant," stated Luca Serena, Euroholding chairman.
The group also includes I.M.P. Romania in Timisoara, and Netex in Bistrita.
The group has budgeted turnover worth 170m-euros for 2008, up around 15% from last year, while in 2007 turnover advanced by only 5% amid the consolidation of the group's companies.
"(...) We want to create some synergies between the companies of the group because it's more profitable for us to be able to deliver turnkey projects," says Serena.
This year, Eurodesign, the group's architecture and design company, sold 40% to Italy's Favero & Milan.
The Italian company will invest in the construction of a new plant that will manufacture prefabricated slabs, new logistic headquarters for Euroconstruct, and in the expansion of aggregates and concrete operations.
Europrefabricate currently owns two production facilities, in Targoviste and Timisoara. This year, the company forecasts turnover worth 30m euros, up 20% year-on-year.
The group also owns a PVC and aluminium carpentry production facility through Eurologistica.
Euroconstruct, the company with the biggest weight in the group's turnover, had to give up a project last year due to a lack of personnel.
Euroholding group now has 1,300 employees in its ten companies, with most of them involved in constructions and design operations, grouped in 6 firms.
Euroholding used Romania as an investment platform to expand on Bulgaria's construction materials market. The group is also considering expanding its operations in countries such as Serbia or Ukraine through its Romanian group.
Monlandys, the investment arm of Euroholding, will launch real estate projects in the next two or three years in which it will invest around 60m euros.
Euroholding is part of Italy's Industrie Maurizio Peruzzo (established 50 years ago) and includes around 28 firms and 24 plants.
