25.05.2007, 19:05 9

The Eurolines Group, which includes around 16 companies involved in various activities, from international passenger transportation, to sales of air tickets and travel packages, has posted a business worth 6.5 million euros in the first three months of this year, up 10% on the same time last year. "The reorganisation of the route and destination schedule, which added two daily departures to our destinations, made the use of our coach fleet more efficient, which was reflected in an increase in the number of passengers, and a turnover increase on the segment of people transportation. Additionally, the resale of IATA and low cost airline tickets through the network of Eurolines agencies has seen a significant rise," said Alexandru Rusu, chief executive of Eurolines. The international transportation of people and ticketing (the sale of aeroplane tickets) had the biggest share in the group's turnover last year. Coaches accounted for 40% of the group's turnover, while ticket sales contributed around 25%.
