16.11.2006, 19:25 13

Wine producer Vinarte witnessed sales worth some 3 million euros in the first nine months of the year, up 25% from the corresponding period of last year. "The main factor behind our growth has been the change in the structure of our sales, which has resulted in sales of expensive wines increasing, as well," said Rodica Fronescu, Vinarte's general manager. The company has 450 hectares of vineyards, located in the Dealu Mare, Turnu Severin and Dragasani areas, of which some 280 hectares are leased from state, while the remainder are under the company's ownership. "Since the beginning of the year, we have bottled some 1.5 million wine bottles, but we estimate that by the end of 2006, we will reach 2 million bottles," said Sergio Faleschini, Vinarte's manager. Vinarte representatives specified that some 300,000 bottles of wine would be exported, predominantly to such markets as the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the United States.
