Former Romtelecom engineer's business bets on expansion abroad for 12m-euro turnover

The Edata group,consisting of six companies - four in Romania, one in Switzerland,and another in the US - founded by Cornel Vintila, a formerRomtelecom engineer, estimates a 12 million-euro turnover for thisyear as a result by expansion abroad. The group specialises inbusiness consulting and operates in the Business Process Managementsector, which entails development of business streamlining andmonitoring software.

"BPM is new on theinternational market and it is the segment of IT&C with thefastest growth worldwide at present," Cornel Vintila, 55, chiefexecutive and shareholder of Edata, told ZF in an interview.

One of thecompany's solutions is Apentix, which helps monitor processes in acompany, a software that monitors how a company's employees performtheir tasks.

For this year thecompany estimates the turnover rise will mainly be driven byoperations abroad. "Things are significantly different comparedwith last year, we are targeting the US market, which accounts for5 million euros of our revenues, while the remaining turnover isderived in Romania and Europe," Vintila said.

Edata Romania willthis year contribute 7 million euros of the overall group turnover,up from 6 million euros last year.
