Fulga expects 5m-euro revenues in Q4

10.11.2005, 19:26 12

Alba County-based firm Albalact, the owner of the Fulga brand, posted 43 million RON (11 million euros) turnover in the first nine months of this year, equalling last year''s results. Its profits amounted to 2.1 million RON (600,000 euros) compared with 2.6 million RON for the entire 2004. "The increase in profitability in 2004 was registered in the last three months of the year and we expect to see the same in 2005. We estimate we will conclude 2005 with a profit of more than 3 million RON," stated Raul Ciurtin, chairman and majority shareholder of Albalact. Ciurtin added that the results of the company were influenced by the seasonal nature of the dairy products market. "The season starts as late as October," Ciurtin said. Albalact expects turnover in the fourth quarter to stand at 15-20 million RON (4 - 5.4 million euros). Ciurtin believes the positive development is largely due to constant growth in the sales of the Fulga brand, which has come to account for some 30% of the UHT (pasteurised) milk market, according to company estimates. To provide support for its most profitable brand, the management of Albalact began a re-branding process for all its products early this year, and boosted their production capacity. ZF
