The distribution activity of the pharmaceutical producer Gedeon Richter Romania, which acquired five pharmaceutical distributors last year, will be conducted under the Dita Import-Export name, the largest distributor of those acquired. Therefore, Dita Import-Export will merge by absorption with Sibiu-based Sibofarm, Activ Pharma, TMT and ABC Farm, and with another two companies it held, before the transaction with Gedeon Richter was concluded - Dita Farm Sud and Dita Farm Impex, according to an announcement published by the company in the Official Gazette. "The merger took place based on the belief that the existence of a single entity, which will include the assets of the participating companies, will better serve the companies' economic targets and will lead to a better functioning business, both commercially and in terms of accounting and human resources involved in its overall activity," reads the announcement. Dita's takeover was the biggest transaction among the five, being valued at 14.5 million euros.
