Grup Romet Buzau doubles business

24.05.2006, 00:00 22

Grup Romet Buzau, producer of water purifying equipment posted a turnover worth 43.8 million euros last year, an almost two-fold increase against its 2004 business. The growth in turnover was due to the extremely high funding granted by the European Union and the Romanian Government for investment in water treatment, building and in establishing new water networks through ISPA, SAMTID and SAPARD programmes. "We also benefited from the SAPARD programme for agriculture, thanks to which we have a full range of tractors on offer, as well as agricultural equipment and irrigation equipment. In addition to that, our assimilating and manufacturing of new products with low costs allowed us to significantly cut our prices," stated Constantin Toma, general manager of Grup Romet Buzau. He expects the market of equipment for water supplying networks and irrigating machines for agriculture to keep on growing, given the rural development programmes and the agricultural programmes conducted with funding from the European Union.
