Hard Rock: average customer will spend 15 euros

17.01.2008, 19:56 11

Romania's first Hard Rock Cafe, due to open in Bucharest's Herastrau Park, expects to attract an average of 400 customers per day, while the restaurant's operators forecast sales worth up to 10,000-euro on busy days. "We will have peak days, when we expect to serve up to 700 clients a day, with the price of an average order reaching around 15 euros," said Tinu Sebesanu, sole shareholder of Midi Development, which holds the Hard Rock Cafe master franchise. This year, the company has budgeted turnover worth 2.5 million euros, although its growth depends on this year's inflation rate. "We are concerned about estimates that forecast an inflation rate of almost 7% this year, which are at odds with our calculations. This is a very risky situation, wages are rising, and productivity, which was already quite low, is stagnating. This, combined with the inflation rate, will create huge problems for all types of businesses, unless severe macroeconomic measures are taken," says Sebesanu.
