Henkel, a company with over 130m-euro turnover annually, withoperations in the consumer goods industry and the field of buildingmaterials, will start building its third plant this year. "Ourbuilding this plant clearly shows what kind of expectations we havefrom the market," says Liviu Sfrija, general manager of HenkelRomania. For the new plant, the investment budget stands at 10meuros, with part of the sum, namely 2.85m euros, due to be coveredthrough European funding.
The total value of investments carried out for productionfacilities on the Romanian market so far stands at 30m euros.Thenew facility is likely to start production in late 2012 and around50-60 people will be hired, reads BUSINESS Magazin. Henkel boughtthe plot of land for the new production facility early last year inRoznov, Neamţ county.
According to the initial plans, production was scheduled tostart this year, but positive signals lacked. Henkel Romania lastyear reached 133m-euro turnover, after a 16% decline in 2009against 2008. The company estimates it will step into the black in2011, with turnover set to rise by around 10%.
