Hyundai Auto Romania, importer of the Korean brand on the local market, has set a 60% higher sales target for this year against 2006, when the company sold 7,788 units. The estimate is also based on the fact that as of January 1st 2007, prices for the whole portfolio of Hyundai models, all taxes included, decreased by up to 25%, according to information provided by the company. Commercial results of 2006 are, according to Hyundai representatives, some 90% higher than in 2005, with the main growth factors in this period being the launch of the new versions of the Accent and Santa Fe models on the domestic market. "Among the most significant reasons for this growth are the new generations of Hyundai models launched in Romania, the new Accent and the new Santa Fe, as well as the diversified marketing activity and the growth of the distribution network and of post-sale services," stated Narcis Ghita, general manager of Hyundai Auto Romania. In terms of car models sold, the biggest growth was reported by the new Accent, with a 107.9% increase, against 2005, i.e. 3,832 units were sold in 2006.
