Emilia Bunea, vice-president and financial manager of the insurance company Interamerican, is set to fill the position of financial manager at ING Asigurari de Viata (ING Life Insurance) from September 24 - the leader of the insurance market. She will replace Dutch-born Marco Adriaan Fredricks, the current CFO of the life insurance company. Emilia Bunea, 37, came to Interamerican (which is a member of the Dutch group Eureko) as a financial manager in 2000, and was later appointed to the position of vice-president at the company. "It is a natural progression, a step forward in my career," says Bunea concerning her departure from ING Asigurari de Viata. Among the most important projects handled by Bunea in her seven years at Interamerican are the entrance of EBRD into the company's shareholder structure, the construction of the Euroclinic private hospital and the launch of life insurance and unit-linked life insurance policies, which place a large part of the insurance premiums in investment funds. Last year, one of the funds managed by Interamerican registered the highest yield (of 31%) on the unit-linked insurance market. "Over this entire period, Emilia has held an important role in the development of our company and in establishing Interamerican Romania's strategy. We respect her choice," said Frans van der Ent, CEO at Interamerican.
