The transport company of the Lazar International group based in Pitesti, one of the largest companies on the domestic market of such services, posted 19 million euro turnover in the first half of the year, compared with 14-15 million euros during the same time last year. "Our transport business will go up by 30% this year and reach more than 40 million euros, partly helped by our logistic space. We have opened 9,000 square metres in Pitesti and will open a similar area in Bucharest in 2009," said Ioan Lazar, who controls the Lazar International group. He added the investment in the logistic centre in Bucharest would amount to seven million euros, which includes the value of the land. The development of logistic centres has aroused the interest of other major carriers, such as Edy Spedition in Hunedoara, Dumagas in Craiova and Dunca in Timisoara. The most important clients of Lazar group's transport division include auto component companies, which operate on a market on the rise thus contributing to higher volumes in the transport business.
