Iproeb expects 50 million euro-turnover

02.05.2007, 18:20 13

Bistrita-based Iproeb, a producer of electrical and optical cables, estimates to see 48.9 million-euro turnover this year, which accounts for an approximately 12% increase in financial indicators against 2006, when the company posted sales worth over 41.7 million euros.
"The positive trend of this year's turnover is due largely to the significant increase in sales of insulated cables on the domestic market, prompting us to see a 61.5% growth against 2005, and, for 2007, we estimate to see a similar trend of the market. On the other hand, the emergence of new suppliers on the market starting this year, and the fluctuation of prices for copper and aluminium, the raw material we use for cable manufacturing, will be the major issues for Iproeb," stated Elena Hoha, financial manager of Iproeb.
Exports currently account for 3.13% of the total turnover of the Bistrita-based company, down 10.13% against last year. The company's foreign business partners are from Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, Israel, the Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic.
"Our company targets total revenues worth 47.3 million euros, with total expenditures standing at 44.6 million euros, which puts the gross profit at 2.7 million euros, down 43% against 2006," said Elena Hoha.
In 2006, the company invested over 0.6 million euros in boosting the production capacity of the insulated cables plant, in acquiring new welding machines, and in providing the labs with modern equipment. For this year, investment and development plans include using over 1.8 million euros for retooling production departments, supplying equipment for the products' quality control, and for acquiring new vehicles for the company's car fleet.
The company's main shareholders are Electromontaj Bucharest, with 30.66% of the company's shares and SIF Banat-Crisana (Financial Investment Company Banat-Crisana), with over 5% of the shares.
