Iulian Dascălu signs with C&A, now has contracts with all of fashion's 'big four'

Businessman Iulian Dascălu, 41, owner of shopping centre chainIulius Mall, is the first Romanian to have brought into his mallsthe biggest fashion players - Inditex, H&M, New Yorker andC&A.

Dascălu has signed a contract with clothing retailer C&A,with the latter to open three stores in three of the businessman'sfive malls. C&A is set to open stores in Palas Iaşi, IuliusMall Timişoara and Iulius Mall Suceava. The three stores will coveraround 4,300 square metres. The biggest one will be the Timişoarastore, which will cover two floors, and have a total area of 1,700square metres. In Iaşi, C&A will open an around 1,380square-metre store on the ground floor of Palas Mall, while theMall Suceava store will cover 1,225 square metres, and will also belocated on the ground floor.

C&A is the last of the "big four" in Romanian fashion tosign a contract with Dascălu for stores in his malls. The first tocome, in 2008, was Inditex, the biggest player in local fashion,with turnover of around 100 million euros, according to ZFestimates based on the company's results in the last two years.
