Romanian law firms still dominate the local market, while the most active firms include Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP), Musat & Asociatii, Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii and Radu Taracila Padurarii Retevoescu (RTPR), according to the prestigious British publication Legal 500. The publication analyses eight legal firms on the local market, with NNDKP being the only firm to be recommended in the first category for all areas of practice. Other firms are recommended for the top category in several fields: Musat & Asociatii (mergers & acquisitions, energy, IT and privatisations), Popoviciu Nitu (IT, real estate and project finance), Badea Clifford Chance (banking and real estate), Salans (IT and real estate), Linklaters (energy and project finance) and CMS Cameron McKenna (energy). "Local companies still dominate the market. Long-established Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen and Musat & Asociatii have ruled the roost since the liberalisation of the market in the 1990s, though Popovici Nitu & Asociatii and Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii are gaining presence on the market year on year," shows the analysis.
