Lidl wants to train young Romanians in Germany and Croatia to put them in charge of stores

Germany's LIDL & Schwarz wants to send between 90 and 100young Romanians to Germany and Croatia to include them in aninternship programme, so that, when they return they should takeover the reins of the stores the group is set to open inRomania.
The retailer owned by LIDL & Schwarz group, which also operatesKaufland discount hypermarkets in Romania, has 25 plots of landready to build the first LIDL stores in Romania, according to theinformation provided by local authorities. Cities where works werestarted include Suceava, Iaşi, Brăila, Arad, Timişoara, Caracal andPiteşti.
"Lidl is doing in Romania what it did in Croatia, Sweden andGermany: it uses a kind of 'instruction manual' for each employeeas they need employees familiar with the company's culture. Between90 and 100 young Romanians seen as 'high potentials' will leave forGermany or Croatia for a period of at least six months, so thatwhen they come back they should be able to take over the helm ofstores," say recruitment market sources.
LIDL representatives did not comment on the information regardingemployee training.
