Lipomin to compete against Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Red Bull

Mineral water bottler Lipomin, owner of the Carpatina brand, forecasts 15 million-euro turnover for this year, and 150 million litres in sales, amid an expansion of its product portfolio, to include non-carbonated soft drinks based on still mineral water, as well as energy drinks and flavoured waters. With this move, Lipomin will enter a non-carbonated drinks market estimated at some 100 million euros last year, and dominated by Coca-Cola Hellenic and by Pepsi Americas. On the energy drinks segment, the top three players are Red Bull Romania (with the Red Bull brand), which holds 70% of the market, Coca-Cola HBC (with Burn) and Dacardi Impex (with Power Horse and Red Force). "Competition is increasingly tight, and bringing complementary products onto the market is a natural step towards achieving our target of ranking in the top three in the consumers' preferences," said Mihai Bratu.
