Medcenter private healthcare services provider has budgeted11.5m-euro turnover for 2011, up 15% year-on-year, amid risingretail services.
"There are factors favouring a positive trend, as well asfactors that may slow down growth. On the one hand, there is therising retail segment, as an option of patients for healthcareservices provided by private companies amid the decliningpurchasing power. On the other hand, there is the trend of thecorporate segment (private subscriptions) that is likely to stallamid changes in the structure, number and typology of employerssealing such contracts, while the private insurance system isgrowing, especially as the basic package of state insurance isdefined, and insurance offices' budgets go down," said Florin IoanBalanica, general manager of Medcenter.
The company operates clinics both in and outside Bucharest andfor 2011 has budgeted investments worth around 7m euros,materialising in imaging services for Iasi and Constanta clinics atfirst and the development of centres including surgery and one-dayhospitalisation rooms.
On medium term, the company's plans also include a privatehospital.
