French Jose Medran, who had been running the Romanian operations of P&G since 2005, is going to be replaced starting this month by the former general manager of the US company's Ukrainian subsidiary, Sotirios Marinidis. Medran is at the end of his term as vice-president and general manager of P&G Romania, the biggest player on the non-food consumer goods market. Starting July, he will fill the position of vice-president of the "Oral Care & Personal Health Care" unit for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with P&G. Medran drove up the US company's turnover in Romania from 215m euros to 315m euros during his term as general manager. In recent years, he has been Romania's ambassador in P&G, succeeding in getting the board's approval for two major investment projects, a new plant in Urlati (Prahova), worth 100m dollars, and a regional services centre with 150 employees in Bucharest. Projects Medran coordinated as general manager of the Romanian subsidiary include the integration of Gillette unit.
