Individual clients in Mehedinti had the lowest time deposits in RON at the end of April, only 140 million RON (38 million euros), according to NBR data. Another county with low savings is Giurgiu, where RON deposits amounted to merely 142 million RON and Caras-Severin, whose total stood at almost 148 million RON. As for savings in foreign currency, these counties show a limited potential. Still, the ranking is a bit different here, with the lowest foreign currency deposits registered in Calarasi, where clients saved the equivalent of 36 million RON (almost 10 million euros), although deposits in RON amounted to almost 225 million RON. In comparison, the population's deposits in foreign currency in Mehedinti and Giurgiu were worth a little more than 57.5 million RON (15.6 million euros). The savings potential therefore varies greatly from county to county. At the top of the ranking are counties like Cluj and Prahova, where term deposits in RON exceed one million RON.
