Ioan Micula, chairman of European Drinks, the biggest food group with Romanian capital, says the company's exports doubled last year, and went up 70% in the first six months of this year. "Our group is interested in expanding on the regional market, and, given the continuous increase in demand for exports, we are counting on seeing a significant development after accession to the European Union and the elimination of customs duties," says Ioan Micula. The chairman of European Drinks says the group is currently exporting to over 40 countries, among which France, Great Britain and Germany. "Our business is among the biggest in the world," Micula added. He specified that the company's turnover increased by 15% in euros in the first half against the same period of 2005.
