The Portugal-based holding specialising in investments in the New Economy Escripovoa.com, by its Romanian partner, Hip Media, has recently launched a new search engine available in the Romanian language at the following address: www.zuky.ro. Zuky.ro is a collection of Romanian links indexed according to domains and sub-domains.
Some of the directories used when indexing are "Arts and Culture," - a directory providing information on artists, painting, sculpture, museums, "Commercial and Economy"- a directory providing useful finance, e-commerce and marketing resources, "Education" - information about universities, high schools and libraries. Also available is a top 20 containing the most visited sites in the search engine.
Hip Media officials say the development of the engine started at the end of last year, after the representatives of the company went to Portugal to meet with programmers of the Lusitano portal (www.lusitano.pt), with over four years of experience on the Portuguese market.
The Zuky search engine currently has 15,000 Romanian websites indexed, with a new search engine to allow delving into international web resources scheduled for launch in two months. This new search engine will run on a system similar to the one of the Altavista portal.
