Nokia receives building licence for Cluj plant

Nokia has received the necessary building licence for its future Romanian plant, with works due to start immediately. Production operations are scheduled to start in the first half of 2008. The new production unit will be located in Jucu industrial park, Cluj county. "Nokia plans to build the plant gradually and recruit around 500 employees by the end of 2007. The number of employees is expected to reach 3,500 when the plant works at full capacity," reads the statement issued by the company. At the end of March, Nokia voiced plans to build a new production facility in Jucu, with investments of 60 million euros. Finnish group Nokia is one of the major international players in the telecommunications sector and produces a wide range of mobile devices and equipment, solutions and services for communication networks.
