Nuclearelectrica to supply $135m power

22.01.2004, 00:00 8

Nuclearelectrica will supply 5 million MWh of electrical power produced by Reactor 1 of the Cernavoda nuclear plant and worth some $135 million to the eight branches of Electrica this year, the Economy and Trade Ministry announced. "Considering the current price approved for the power made at Cernavoda is 981,000 ROL/MWh, the scheduled electrical power output is worth 4,590bn ROL (some $135 million), " the Ministry specified. The amount of electrical power to be produced by the nuclear power plant in Cernavoda this year will account for about 10% of the domestic consumption projected. The share of nuclear energy in the total electrical power output of Romania has been like this since 1997, the first year of commercial operation of the Cernavoda plant, except last year when its output was lower, 4.5 million MWh, due to the drought. The decisions of the National Electrical Power Regulating Authority (ANRE) prohibit Nuclearelectrica to export electrical power or sell to eligible consumers. ZF
