Only 80 MW of the 1,500 MW of wind power announced by Iberdrola to become operational in 2011

Iberdrola energy group, one of the world's biggest players onthe market of wind energy projects, will launch an 80 MW wind farmnext year in Mihai Viteazu locality of Constanţa county, with thisbeing as a matter of fact the only investment which has its networkconnection contract signed of the 1,500 MW the Spanish companyplans for Romania.
Taking into account the farm's capacity, the investment of MihaiViteazu is likely to get to 120-140m euros.
Like many other investors that chose to start wind energy projectsin Romania, Iberdrola also works with a developer, called EolicaDobrogea, together with which it has announced plans for theconstruction of 50 farms, in Dobrogea, with a cumulated capacity of1,500 MW, almost equalling that of two reactors of Cernavodănuclear power station.
However, according to Transelectrica data, of the 1,500 MW set tobe installed in the 2011-2017 period, only 80 MW, namely the windfarm of Mihai Viteazu, have a signed network connectioncontract.
