Pambac targets 22% turnover increase

16.07.2007, 18:41 6

Pambac, one of the leading producers in the domestic milling and bakery industry, posted a 22 million-euro turnover in the first half of the year, up 21% against the same time last year, alongside a 16% increase in net profit. "These results came amid a restructuring in terms of the number of products in the company's portfolio and a focus on significant groups of products," said Alin Giurea, general manager of the company. He added that the main products whose sales led to this increase are pasta and pre-packaged flour, which, in the April-May 2007 period, had a 26% and a 16% market share respectively, according to MEMRB data, cited by the company. Although the second half of the year is expected to be difficult for producers, due to the market declining in volume, as well as to an increase in the price of wheat per tonne, the company is maintaining its growth estimates from the beginning of the year and targets a turnover of 49 million euros, up 22% against last year, and a net profit of at least 2 million euros.
