Privilege sells cosmetics worth 5m euros

The cosmetics importer Privilege International Cosmetic, part of the Ina Center Privilege chain of stores, posted turnover worth 18.5 million RON (5.1 million euros) and profit of 2.5 million RON (700,000 euros) in 2005. Privilege operates several cosmetics stores in partnership with the Ina Center chain. The two chains together own 40 stores in Romania, 15 of which are in Bucharest, and posted a total turnover worth 10 million euros last year. The two companies estimate their turnover will stand at 13 million euros in 2006. Officials of Ina International, the company controlling the two chains, recently stated that they plan to invest over one million euros to develop four stores in Bucharest and in the rest of the country. Stores in the Ina Centre and Privilege chains sell products from ranges such as Clarins, Kenzo, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Escada. According to Ina International officials, the company does not intend to expand its products portfolio. ZF
