Oradea-based Proges, specialising in the distribution of interior decoration materials, plans to open a 20-store network in Hungary, following a 20 million-euro investment. Proges has recently opened a 1,000 square-metre store in the Hungarian town of Niyregyhaza, following an investment worth around 500,000 euros, this being the company's first step towards expanding the network outside Romania. "After consolidating our position on the Romanian market, expanding our operations onto the Hungarian market is a test which will show us what the Hungarian market has to offer. Over the next two years, we intend to develop a 20-store network in the main Hungarian cities, which will entail an over 10 million-euro investment," said Annamaria Anton-Bako, marketing manager of Proges. The company estimates it will see an 80 million-euro turnover this year, double the level seen in 2006.
