Raiffeisen Leasing sees 135m euros in contracts

28.07.2005, 19:35 10

Raiffeisen Leasing has increased its estimates for contracts concluded this year by 10% after seeing increased growth on the automotive market, as well as increased demand for equipment. "Our initial estimate was 121 million euros, because we set out to concentrate on intensive rather than extensive development during 2005 through internal consolidation of the company and perfecting the services we offer customers. Considering the growth of the leasing market we expect to exceed 135 million euros by the end of the year," says Bernd Kuenzel, Raiffeisen Leasing''s chairman. He expects vehicles to remain the main category in the company''s business, given that, after six months, cars accounted for 46% of the value of all contracts concluded, followed by commercial vehicles with 40%. "Although the automotive market is constantly developing, Raiffeisen Leasing''s goal is to boost the share of equipment leasing in its contract portfolio, since there is a lot of demand for funding from this sector that is essential to improving Romania''s economy competitiveness," explained Kuenzel. Raiffeisen Leasing signed contracts to the tune of 65 million euros in the first six months this year, with its 16 branches contributing 62% of the total value of the contracts. ZF
