Daw Benta Romania, based in Mures county, a varnish and paint producer and member of the Daw&Caparol group, has posted a 2.8 million-euro turnover in the first quarter of this year resulting in an over 115% increase in financial indicators against 2006, when the Mures-based company saw sales worth 1.3 million euros. "The positive trend in financial indicators seen in the first quarter of 2007 is based on the growth of the construction materials market, especially on the varnish and paint segment, following the development of the economy and the increase in the population's purchasing power. The development of the real estate sector of late, as well as the expansion of the do-it-yourself store networks has had a positive impact on the construction materials market, as well, with the biggest sales being registered in Transylvania and in the big cities," the company's marketing manager, Simona Marginean, told ZF Transilvania.
